Tour between Portovenere and the Cinque Terre

Among the most beautiful areas of the Mediterranean and the most famous Italian landscapes in the world.

We offer you a tour full of activities and experiences to make the most of your visit to Portovenere and the Cinque Terre, in the Ligurian Levant.

“It is a cultural landscape of great value that represents a traditional way of life and the harmonious interaction between man and nature, producing a landscape of exceptional scenic quality.”

This is how UNESCO describes the territory of the Cinque Terre and Portovenere when it declared them a World Heritage Site in 1997.

We propose a tour between Portovenere and the Cinque Terre to slowly appreciate every detail of these enchanted places.

Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore: five villages perched on cliffs overlooking the sea, creating a wonderful contrast with the green hills behind.

The landscape of the Cinque Terre is unique, characterized by pastel-colored houses climbing the slopes, the deep blue of the sea, and the terraces built by man for cultivation, primarily vineyards.

4 DAYS – 3 NIGHTS

DAY 1 – PORTOVENERE:

Among Italy’s most famous villages, Portovenere has welcomed numerous artists and poets over the years, who were captivated by the beauty of its landscape.
During your visit, we recommend heading to the tip of the promontory that hosts the Church of San Pietro. Featuring black-and-white striped decorations, it stands on a cliff overlooking the sea and was built on the remains of an ancient pagan temple.
Not far from here is the Arpaia Cave, better known as the Lord Byron Cave. The name reminds us of the inspiration this enchanting place gave to the English artist for his literary works.
To continue your discovery of Portovenere, you can take a walk along the Palazzata a Mare, a long wall of colorful houses leaning against each other.
The historic center also serves as the town’s commercial hub, with narrow alleys and squares opening up among shops, artisan workshops, and focaccerie.
Hotel accommodation, dinner, and overnight stay.

DAY 2 – RIOMAGGIORE AND MANAROLA:

This day, full of colors, romantic locations, and scenic beauty, will begin with a hearty breakfast at your hotel.
In the morning, you will reach the village of Riomaggiore, known for its pastel-colored houses perched on steep slopes.
You can visit the Church of San Giovanni Battista, where you’ll notice the 14th-century rose window made from white Carrara marble.
Before lunch, enjoy a stroll around the picturesque harbor of the village, followed by a rich tasting of local wines and products.
In the afternoon, head to Manarola, a district of Riomaggiore. Here, you can enjoy the view of the enchanting village and its colors at sunset.
Hotel accommodation, dinner, and overnight stay.

DAY 3 – CORNIGLIA AND VERNAZZA:

After breakfast, head to Corniglia, the only village not accessible by sea, located about 100 meters above sea level on a promontory.
Here, you can visit the Church of San Pietro, built in Gothic-Ligurian style in the 14th century.
In the afternoon, visit Vernazza, a medieval village that once thrived as a maritime base.
Today, its urban structure features loggias, churches, medieval fortifications, and the Doria Castle with the attached Belforte cylindrical tower.
We recommend walking through Vernazza’s narrow streets to reach the picturesque square in front of the harbor.
Hotel accommodation, dinner, and overnight stay.

DAY 4 – MONTEROSSO:

The last day will be dedicated to discovering Monterosso, the largest village in the Cinque Terre.
The Torre Aurora divides the village into the older area (Fegina) and the more touristy new part.
Among the must-see sights are the Capuchin Convent and the Church of San Giovanni Battista.
In the afternoon, you can choose to relax on Monterosso’s sandy beach or join a scenic boat tour.
In particular, you will have the chance to admire the Cinque Terre from a different perspective as they are bathed in the warm glow of sunset.
Return to the starting location.
